Five Months worth only goes about 50 lbs
I'm ready. Ready to hit the road or the air is more appropriate. My body is ready too minus the fact that i'm paler than pale. It's nearly nine pm and already i'm sleepy. I'm going to blame it on the fact that my stupid body has been waking up a hour earlier with each progressing day. Today is was 7 am and i''m guessing tomorrow will with 6. I guess i should look at it as a good thing seeing as a week from now i will be in my new home for 5 months in Singapore. Singapore is about 14 hours ahead of time compared to iowa. I guess it might benefit me to wake up a little earlier in that case. The real problem ahead is narrowing down the amount of clothing that i wish to take while still bringing some other needed supplies. All this packing and planning is really starting to wear me out. Blame it on Singapore that it's only 9 pm and i'm going to bed.

FINALLY Back from a short or long spell of winter depression
The semester has flown by yet some really exciting things happened. for one the smells sounds and joys of what can only come from iowa state football season.
I finally reached that age. the age of true adulthood. turning 21 is a milestone. Although i would still prefer a cup of coffee to a beer or a glass of wine, it still feels good to be 21.
I love my connection group and am very sad that i will be leaving them for a short while. We make tie dye look classy. we are a pretty large group but everyone of the girls has a beautiful heart and im so proud of each of them and glad that i have been given the chance to lead them and see them grow in to beautiful woman rooted in God's word.
Finally there is my lovely roommates. yep pretty much love them all. I'm going to miss them while in gone but praise God for skype and video messages via facebook. the laughs and the craziness will be missed
So although on average the last semester hasn't been too eventful im sure of one thing, God continues to work in me and the people around me. He loves all of us and as it says in 1 John he calls us his children. That is what we are!

Farewell Summer
Let's face it Summer has come and Now Gone. It's been about a week now since i've truly felt a warm sun on my shoulders and neck. I see my tan slowly fading. Summer has thought me a lot of marvelous things at the same time.
1. there is nothing like an iced coffee, book, and a bed of green grass.
2. once you pass the initial burning stage it is all tan from then on.
3. when all else fails, camp indoors.
4. who ever said that public pools are just you high school students and younger is seriously misinformed.
5. rock hunting is a season sport and worth the dirty fingernails.
Ohh summer. how you will be missed....

Tickle me
Did you know that it is impossible to tickle yourself? Try it? it simply doesn't work. The reason because you are just too intelligent to trick your own brain. you see when you tickle yourself, your cerebellum warns the rest of your brain that you are about to tickle yourself. Thus your brain ignores the resulting sensation entirely. Interesting right? well random but that all for now. Go out and tickle someone besides yourself.

climbing out of the valley
Today is one of those days. one of those days where everything just seems to fly by while i myself seem to be a haze or a motionless and thoughtless. It seems like everything is progressing while i just sit and watch.
I've lost the way to access joy or at least i've lost the motivation to access joy. It appears that maybe i need to break from life thus i decided to write this blog in hopes of forcing myself to process so as to find that which has been lost. There are many reasons why i feel this numbness. I think it could be the fact that im going off a long weekend full of many glorious things and people and now have to face school yet again. Or maybe its the fact that im drained after doing lots of organic chemistry. I think the true reason is that im letting go. I think this is what is feels like at the very bottom of a deep valley. My valley is from deciding to leave all my expectations at the foot of the cross yet again in my life. But heres the thing about a valley...a valley is really only beautiful from above or at least you can't appreciate it nearly as much unless you see if from afar. So as i leave what expectations i have i need to climb out of with the help of God and the Holy Spirit relying on what promises are true and only holding tightly to those. So here marks yet another day where the uphill battle commences.

if I were SUPER HUMAN...
Have you ever wanted a super power?
Like the ability to morph into your favorite animal or read peoples minds
How about the ability to have super human strength to lift a car or have super human speed
well if i could have super human powers they would be...
I want to be able to walk through walls, speak any language, have superhuman senses, and of course read the minds of those around me and I know just the person that I would start with....

Vade Mecum
I'd like to introduce you to something very special or....
at least i hope will one day be very special
It is my Vade Mecum
I know it sounds like a cult of something really weird.
Actually a vade mecum is a book that one carries all the time. almost like a manual
my vade is for someone very special... my future husband.
I haven't been doing the best job at updating it so i figured i would write about it and
then perhaps i would get the drive to write more in it.
So basically you can start your own today if you like.
here's a sneak peak...

What would you be?
If I were a month, I'd be June.
If I were a day of the week, I'd be Saturday.
If I were a time of day, I'd be 3 pm.
If I were a planet, I would be Jupiter.
If I were a sea animal, I'd be a Turtle.
If I were a direction, I'd be West.
If I were a piece of furniture, I'd be a lime green victorian sofa with a tufted back.
If I were a liquid, I'd be a vanilla latte.
If I were a gemstone, I would be a pearl.
If I were a tree, I would be a white birch.
If I were a tool, I'd be a calculator.
If I were a kind of weather, I'd be sunny with a cool breeze.
If I were a color, I'd be aquamarine.
If I were an emotion, I'd be inquisitive.
If I were a fruit, I'd be a peach.
If I was a sound, I'd be the trees swaying in the wind.
If I were an element, I would be Antimony.
If I were a car, I'd be a Vespa scooter.
If I were a food, I'd be cheese.
If I were a material, I'd be cotton.
If I were a taste, I'd be spicy.
If I were a scent, I'd be a light fruity smell.
If I were an object, I'd be a camera.
If I were a body part, I'd be the eyes.
If I were a facial expression, I'd be laughter.
If I were a song, I would be Pins and Needles.

Cooking Adventures
So since i finally have a place to call my own, one that has my very own stove. I have become a cooking machine. I used to think that i hated to cook turns out it can be quite enjoyable, especially in the close company of friends.
Homemade chicken pot pie with miss. valerie allen was quite lovely. just look at the golden brown crust on that beauty. What goes best with chicken pot pie well i delicious dessert of course. how about these cream cheese filled chocolate cupcakes. Valerie and i should open a bakery with my frosting skills and her sprinkling and photographing skills i'm pretty sure we would be a hit.
other cooking adventures have included making homemade salsa and also yellow chicken curry and rice.

Summer
Ahh summer school. what is sometimes associated with the most painful experience in life short of child birth, having an incurable disease, or being run over by a car.
Surprisingly, summer school hasn't been too unbearable. Although, each day starts bright in early at 7:30 which is unheard of in summer, it does have it upsides. For one it gives you a chance to drink lots of coffee without being unable to sleep when bedtime rolls around. It also caters very nicely to getting a lot accomplished in a single day. I feel more motivated to work out, actually study, or even just do fun things like cook. I have also never had a such a refreshing class as Religion in America. Although the teacher is less than desirable and frankly i think she would scare little children on the street, she does often make me laugh. True half the time, i'm somewhat frustrated due to the the way she portrays Christianity, i still have to admit the class has not been a waste of time. Such an easy class also provides ample time to do fun activities. now what to do today.... paint... bake... read... or even nap.
